Adults

WELCOME

Everyone works together for our church to love God, love others, live the mission and make disciples. From learning in a Bible study, encouraging someone in a LIFEgroup, worshiping in a weekend gathering, to serving in a mission project, everyone has an opportunity at First Norfolk. There are numerous ways for adults to connect to the life of the church. We realize that a recent college graduate is at a different place than someone with kids in middle school so our adult ministries are designed to be relevant to you in your stage of life.

We believe that the best way to grow in your faith and in service is to be a part of a LIFEgroup. Our LIFEgroups are built around age groups.

Find a LIFEgroup

18 to 20-somethings

Our young adult recognizes the unique nature and opportunities this age group has with becoming an adult and how life changes with work, college, military service, and exploring what it means to follow Christ in this new stage of their life. Find out more here.

Contemporary Adults (30s to 50s)

You're in this age group before you realize it and life is clipping along. We have LIFEgroups for married adults with small children and those with grown children. There are groups geared toward single moms and single parents. We also offer small groups for "Empty Nesters" and mixed groups where people from all walks of life gather together. These LIFEgroups plan their own activities and fellowship together regularly.  Use our interactive LIFEgroup Finder and visit classes to find the right one for you.

Mature Adults (60s and beyond)

Been there and done that, but you're just getting started! Your LIFEgroup is made up of people who have made history, made a difference, and have grown to have a rich appreciation for life and what God has done for them. It's not just a time for reflection, but action. Our Young at Heart ministry to mature adults sponsors regular activities for you to continue to grow in faith, serve others, and have fun. Grief Share

GriefShare

Wednesday evenings. 6-8 PM, Room 300 Group facilitators: Steve and Jeanette Stallings Book cost: Free! After the funeral, when the cards and flowers have stopped coming, most of the people around you return to their normal lives. But your grief continues and you feel alone.

Often, friends and family want to help you, but don't know how. That's the reason for GriefShare. Our group is led by caring people who have experienced grief and have successfully rebuilt their lives. We understand how you feel because we've been in the same place. We will walk with you on the long path through grief toward healing and hope for the future.
