Our Preschool Ministry at First Baptist Norfolk includes children birth through kindergarten and their families. Laying the foundation of faith for each preschooler is the goal of our Preschool Ministry. With this foundation, preschoolers are better equipped when they are older to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.

The spiritual experiences during the preschool years form a foundation of faith and equips a child when they are older, to make a personal commitment to Christ.

Play is the work of a preschooler. Preschoolers learn by doing and through repetition, imitation, and curiosity. They use their senses and receive satisfaction in their accomplishments. Most importantly, preschoolers learn through their relationships. Those who teach them are of vital importance.

We take our responsibility toward preschoolers seriously. Jesus said, “whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name, welcomes me.”Matthew 18:5.

Child Security

For security reasons, all parents must register each child, infants through kindergartners, at our Preschool Welcome Desk. Parents will be given a security card for each child and this card will be required in order to pick up your child before departing. On-site pagers are also available and may be checked out at our Preschool Welcome Desk. For additional safety and security, we also require that two adults be in each of our classrooms at all times.
